La cruauté de la vie et les affections cohabitent tjs les Ozu. Dans ce drame social poignant aux tons néoréalistes, les plans contemplatifs saisissent les détresses des petits gens mais garde tjs une distance pour laisser exhaler la douceur de leurs sentiments inavoués.
